Which is worse…..a life in which you encounter no reason to look beyond yourself or a life in which you encounter a reason to look beyond yourself? Storms are a doorway through which many look beyond themselves and discover the reality of God.
Storms are not fun. It was just through such a storm that I, in an effort to deal with the storm, began to seek God. In seeking Him, I looked beyond myself and entered through the doorway in which I discovered the reality of God and the reward of finding God. The storm was one of the worst, if not the worse, experience of my life but the reward of finding God, of discovering the reality of God, has buried the memory of that difficult time beneath a world of satisfaction with the rest of my life.
