16 - God's instructions: headed North!
In September 1967, I was discharged from the service and returned home; surprising my folks when I walked up and knocked on their door. At that time my folks were still in Daytona Beach as my Mom had not yet completed her training to be a Registered Nurse. It was really nice to be back home again.
In December I decided to return to Naples and in so doing fulfilled the dream reflecting that I would return to Naples in 24 months (reference the link: “11 – God knows the future: 30 days and 24 months!“). In Naples, I continued to attend the church God had showed me (reference the link: “4 – I prayed. God answers with a dream.“
Roughly 6 months after arriving in Naples, I had a dream in which God showed me that Don Paulson, the church pastor, and his family would be traveling North into snow country and that I should accompany them. When I broached this to Don and his wife, they were amazed. They had not told anyone of their leading from the Lord to resign from the church and take a church up North. They took this as a further leading and a confirmation from the Lord and agreed that I should accompany them.
During the trip North, a wonderful thing happened. It had to do with my folks becoming aware of the reality of God acting in our real world and being saved. That’s another story we will get to but, before we get there, I totaled a new van. That’s the subject of the next page: “17 – Everything is in good hands.” Odd as it may seem, the story of totaling the van is really funny; something right out of an episode of Wile E. Coyote in the Road Runner cartoons.

What do I make of this experience?
The dream, together with its fulfillment, added to the awareness of the reality of God and his leading for both the Paulson’s and myself. Both during the trip and the year I remained with them was a year of growth for all of us. From my perspective, as mentioned above, some amazing things occurred and are included within the pages of this website. Not only were they further examples of the reality of God in our world but they were major blessings in and of themselves.
God communicates with us in many ways; one of which is through dreams. In addition to the scriptures quoted previously regarding dreams of God, the following are some scriptural examples.
